BIM Level 2

Public Sector BIM Working Group (PSBWG)

The work of the UK BIM Task Group continues under the new name “DBB Level 2 Public Sector BIM Working Group” (PSBWG). The PSBWG is building on the initial BIM Level 2 programme, with the aim of providing strategic leadership to help embed BIM Level 2 as ‘Business As Usual’ within Government Departments, and in turn within their supply chains.

The PSBWG aims to support Department’s continued development and Deployment of common practices and new ways of working, whilst being cognisant of each Department’s operating model, in order to lay the foundations of BIM Level 3.

Through benefits realisation management, measurement and reporting, along with case studies, the group is building a better understanding of the benefits of BIM Level 2, with the aim of increasing commitment to and accountability for BIM Level 2 adoption.

Through this engagement the group seeks to gain wider support for the application of BIM Level 2 to the whole asset lifecycle, in order to gain commitment to the development of Departmental capability and new ways of working to further lay the foundation for Level 3.
