April 2019 Newsletter Introduction:

Welcome to the April edition of the CDBB newsletter, where we are pleased once again to report on some of the activities we have been involved with recently. It was great to see that the sun shone down on Cambridge for the first CDBB hosting of an afternoon at Cambridge Science Festival. Do read on to find out what happened, and my thanks to Bouygues for helping to provide such a great interactive activities alongside our other creative exploits!  It was great to see such a variety of people interested in what we are doing, covering all generations, and we look forward to new opportunities to reach out to different communities who are interested in the future of construction and digital transformation.

More recently, we have released the next output from the Digital Framework Task Group (DFTG), in the form of the Roadmap, which follows on from the Gemini Principles for the development of the national digital twin and the information management framework that will enable it. The Roadmap to the Information Management Framework for the Built Environment is an interactive pdf which sets out how the Framework should be delivered. It is a great tool, and I would encourage you to explore the pdf by clicking on each of the boxes to delve further into each criteria. My thanks to the Roadmap Working Group for their excellent work in developing this tool, which I'm sure will be a great step forward towards the goal of a national digital twin.

I hope you enjoy reading about this and all the other activities we have been working on. Please do get in touch with us if you would like any further information.
