The digital disruption of traditional norms fuels arguments that digital technology gives rise to completely new collaborative models and has significant impact on construction procurement systems. BIM and other digital technologies shine a harsh light on disjointed procurement practices and support a more holistic approach to the full project lifecycle.
This research project will explore and analyse the connections between successful collaborative procurement and digital technology. It will establish evidence and lessons arising from the ways in which digital data exchange and its impact on commercial practices have been translated into improved value and improved collaborative business models.

Next Steps
This project aims to examine, in detail, successful programmes that have delivered significant improvements in long-term performance by adopting collaborative alliancing procurement and management strategies. The objective is to publish a “white paper” to provide the evidence base to underpin the key actions needed to implement such programmes.
