Newsletter Introduction

Happy New Year and welcome to the January edition of the CDBB newsletter. As the year starts, we are looking forward to continuing the progress made in CDBB's first year. We hope you enjoyed reading all about this in our Year One Report. If you haven't, see below for more details. This includes details of the Digital Framework Task Group's report on the Gemini Principles, the proposed principles for a national digital twin. Importantly, we are keen for those involved in planning, creating and managing the built environment to provide feedback on the Gemini Principles and future roadmap. To do this please contact enquiries@cdbb.cam.ac.uk.

Lastly, I would like to reiterate our sincere congratulations to our colleague and Chair of the Strategic Research Group for CDBB, Dr Jennifer Schooling, upon receiving an OBE in this year's New Year Honours. We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding contribution that Dr Schooling has made to British society. Her leadership has not only led to increased productivity in the delivery of better built assets, but also greater productivity in the provision of public services across the UK. She has worked to encourage more women to enter engineering, creating a blog highlighting women in the sector and is profiled herself by the UoC, ICE & SCOR. You can find out more about Dr Schooling's work below.

We hope you enjoy reading this month's newsletter, and look forward to engaging with you in the coming months.

Andy Neely, Director CDBB
