Chris Dent is Professor of Industrial Mathematics in the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh, and a Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute. He has broad interests across operation and planning of energy systems, and wider issues of digital twin modelling and decision support in infrastructure and public policy.
He currently leads the National Digital Twin Climate Resilience Demonstrator (CReDo) project, which demonstrates how the technologies from the NDTp can enable the necessary systems approach for decision support in a key application for society.
More widely, he has a particular interest in knowledge exchange between academia and industry, in designing research projects in analysis methodology that can support future generations of deployment projects, and how this sits in the context of available skills in both industry and academia.
