Centre for Digital Built Britain completed its five-year mission and closed its doors at the end of September 2022

This website remains as a legacy of the achievements of our five-year foundational journey towards a digital built Britain

Explore what the UK’s buildings, places & spaces could be like in 2040 & how the choices we make today could lead to fairer, greener future.

An interactive story sets out four future visions for the built environment and will be available throughout the Festival. In this event children are invited to join an interactive session on Saturday 27 March 2021 from 2-3pm to explore the future of work where digital data and technology is used in new and different ways and share their views about the future world might be like to live and work in. Children joining the session should be supervised by a parent or guardian throughout the session.

An evening (aimed at adults) talk on Monday 29 March 2021, 6-7pm will focus on our vision for a digital built Britain and how the Four Futures, One Choice book and the wider work of the centre help to achieve this vision.

Of the four future scenarios presented there are two that are clearly preferable – focused on a sustainable, equal and diverse world within which Britain’s economy, society and environment can thrive. Given the unprecedented opportunity we’ve been presented with, we can’t stand still any longer. We have the choice, let’s make it now.
