Centre for Digital Built Britain completed its five-year mission and closed its doors at the end of September 2022

This website remains as a legacy of the achievements of our five-year foundational journey towards a digital built Britain

The aim of this workshop is to present the research findings and discuss future research with healthcare client representatives, designers, software developers and policy makers. This will contribute towards defining future directions for code checking research in healthcare.

The research team engaged in the project is multidisciplinary and includes world class academics from the University of Huddersfield (UK), University College London (UK) and UFRGS – Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, (Porto Alegre, Brazil).

This project is funded by the Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB).

WORKSHOP

The aim of this workshop is to present the research findings and discuss future research with healthcare client representatives, designers, software developers and policy makers. This will contribute towards defining future directions for code checking research in healthcare.

This workshop is part on an ongoing research project, aiming to propose recommendations for the adoption of automated checking of regulatory compliance in the design of healthcare facilities. More specifically, the research will:

  • identify enablers and barriers of using BIM based tools aligned with process changes for automated compliance checking;
  • contribute towards the adoption of automation in healthcare building projects;
  • propose a categorisation of (a) building codes (HBNs, HTMs and Building Regulations) and (b) client requirements information for healthcare projects.
