Ahead of the Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB) and Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction (CSIC)-hosted ‘Security-Mindedness for Smart Infrastructure: Challenges and Opportunities’ event on 1 November, Alexandra Luck, security project manager for CDBB, sets out how a security-minded approach is central to the CDBB programme and the operation and integration of assets and environments.

Dr Alice Moncaster, Senior Lecturer at the School of Engineering & Innovation at the Open University and Visiting Fellow at the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge considers how increasing digitisation will make buildings more sustainable.

The Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) are teaming up for a programme of high-level ‘roundtable’ discussions, which aim to further accelerate adoption of the Government’s digital strategy for the built environment especially the successful embedment of BIM across industry.

This year CDBB was pleased to sponsor the New Civil Engineer TechFest 2018. Held in the heart of London this event aimed to provide a forum for civil engineers to debate the industry’s biggest tech challenges, stimulate opportunities to further innovation. It also provided a forum for rewarding great innovations that are shaping the industry with a series of awards announced in an award ceremony at the end of the day.
