Centre for Digital Built Britain completed its five-year mission and closed its doors at the end of September 2022

This website remains as a legacy of the achievements of our five-year foundational journey towards a digital built Britain

The Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB), enabled by the Construction Innovation Hub, has developed a tool to help navigate the broad, diverse knowledge base it has created over the last three and a half years. The Knowledge Base Navigator allows people from industry, academia and the general public to browse and filter through our outputs and find information that is relevant to them, save their searches and see how our topics relate to each other in informative graphics.

Since its foundation, CDBB has published a wide range of outputs – from technical and academic papers to insightful pieces and industry reports – for a wide range of audiences. Previously, these outputs were spread across our news pages, publications pages and external sites, but now you can browse and filter to find the content you are interested in, or explore the knowledge base CDBB, its partners and researchers have helped to create.

The Knowledge Base Navigator features an interface that will be familiar to academics from their experience with scholarly databases, but was designed with a broad audience in mind. The outputs have been categorised by topic, as well as how they fit into the lifecycle of the built environment, meaning that users can find all our outputs by topic, filter by academic or industry focused outputs, and see how much different topics intersect with one another and with different phases of the built environment lifecycle. These visualisations help map our contribution to the information landscape of the built environment sector and adjacent sectors.
