November 2019 Newsletter Introduction:

This month I'm pleased to officially welcome our post-doctoral researchers to the CDBB community. There are some exciting new research projects commencing and we have brief details of some of these, along with the new researchers, later in this newsletter. If you missed this year's research showcase held in CDBB week, then you will be pleased to know that the videos of the presentations from the day are now available. These are short video summaries of some of the key research to date, carried out by our Early Career Researchers, our General Researchers as well as the Research Networks. As part of the day I was pleased to present a summary of CDBB, including our current vision for the centre. I have written more on this in this week's blog

You will hopefully have seen the recently published Government Soft Landings - Revised guidance for the public sector on applying BS8636 parts 1 and 2 as well as the Guidance part 2: Processes for Project Delivery document. CDBB has been pleased to work with both the UK BIM Alliance and BSI in the development of these key documents and to collectively champion one single set of guidance which will support industry understanding of BIM standards and their implementation. The launch of the new UK BIM Framework website brings together overarching approach to implementing BIM in the UK. We hope you find the website resources useful, and welcome feedback to additions you would like to see to the site.

The National Digital Twin Programme continues to move apace, and we have appointed BSI as the facilitator for the creation of the Digital Twin Hub web-enabled community, and have appointed Turner and Harris to lead the Enablers Stream of the National Digital Twin Programme. In addition, today we have released a Tender for the DFTG's Governance Stream.

The Construction Innovation Hub was very well represented in numerous elements of both UK Construction Week and Digital Construction Week, and I was pleased to hear that we were presented with an award at UK Construction Week for the Best Stand over 100sqm! Well done team.

I hope you enjoy engaging with this month's newsletter.
