Research background
Aurimas recently completed his PhD at the University of Bath, developing new approaches for architects and structural engineers to design low embodied carbon structures using reclaimed structural elements and minimally processed timber. Prior to his PhD, Aurimas completed a Bachelor of Science in Architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Research ambitions for CDBB
By integrating design, technology, engineering and fabrication through research we will:
- develop a range of school designs and the digital means of fabricating them,
- develop the basis for manufacturing that can take design input using our research from multiple architects, engineers, and contractors, and
- influence policymakers and procurement to ensure the adoption of timber more broadly.
