Centre for Digital Built Britain completed its five-year mission and closed its doors at the end of September 2022

This website remains as a legacy of the achievements of our five-year foundational journey towards a digital built Britain

I have a MSc and a PhD in Geomatics Engineering-Remote Sensing. I have been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Leeds since July 2019 and working with CDBB from Feb 2020. My research background is in monitoring crustal deformation and mainly land subsidence using a SAR satellite imagery technique known as InSAR

Application of Satellite Technology in Infrastructure Monitoring

Research ambitions for CDBB

Conventional methods for structural stability monitoring are generally expensive and limited to applications with restricted spatial size. Satellite SAR Interferometry (InSAR) techniques tackle these limitations and provides unique characteristics for monitoring stability of structures to assess baseline studies prior to construction and possibility of identifying unstable areas by taking advantage of archived satellite imagery. There are critical components for the SAR satellite imagery and InSAR methods that impact monitoring of infrastructures stability. My role in the above CDBB project is leading the evaluation of these components and development of InSAR approaches to increase their performance in estimating infrastructure deformation.
