Centre for Digital Built Britain completed its five-year mission and closed its doors at the end of September 2022

This website remains as a legacy of the achievements of our five-year foundational journey towards a digital built Britain

Antiopi Koronaki is an architect engineer working in the Centre for Natural Material Innovation. Her research explores the potential of engineered timber in off-site manufactured school buildings in the UK. She holds a PhD from the University of Bath on the optimisation of large-scale structures for construction.

Precision Engineered Timber - digital design and delivery of healthier schools

Research ambitions for CDBB

By integrating design, technology, engineering and fabrication through research we will:

  • develop a range of school designs and the digital means of fabricating them,
  • develop the basis for manufacturing that can take design input using our research from multiple architects, engineers, and contractors, and
  • influence policymakers and procurement to ensure the adoption of timber more broadly.
