The Centre for Digital Built Britain [CDBB] was delighted to support the British Standards Institution [BSI] launch event and celebration of the recently published BS EN ISO 19650 Documents, National Annex and Transition guidance held at the Institute of Civil Engineering [ICE] on 31 January 2019, in conjunction with the UK BIM Alliance.

The United Kingdom’s Building Information Modelling [BIM] Standards are a tried and tested way to work more efficiently and effectively in a digital environment. They are helping organisations to improve their performance and reduce their risk by introducing collaborative ways of working ensuring that the same accurate data can be accessed throughout the supply chain. The standardisation of BIM Level 2 has underpinned and created the building blocks for the UK’s journey towards a digital built Britain.

National Annex for BS EN ISO 19650-2 available for public comment

Later this year will see the first two international standards published for Building Information Modelling (BIM) BS EN ISO 19650–1 Organization of information about construction works – Information management using building information modelling – Part 1: Concepts and principles and BS EN ISO 19650-2 Organization of information about construction works – Information management using building information modelling – Part 2: Delivery phase of assets. These two standards will supersede BS 1192 (principles) and PAS 1192 part 2 (capital/delivery phase) respectively.

PAS 185 Smart Cities – Specification for establishing and implementing a security-minded approach lists requirements for creating a framework for the security-minded management of a city.
