The Centre for Digital Built Britain [CDBB] was delighted to support the British Standards Institution [BSI] launch event and celebration of the recently published BS EN ISO 19650 Documents, National Annex and Transition guidance held at the Institute of Civil Engineering [ICE] on 31 January 2019, in conjunction with the UK BIM Alliance.

In this month’s blog we hear from Fiona Moore, CDBB’s BIM Programme Manager, who discusses her thoughts on the importance of BIM in construction and how a change management approach can be key in making progress and releasing the benefits of BIM. Fiona also reports on progress to date of the CDBB and Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) programme of ‘roundtable’ discussions, with the aim of gaining improved understanding of progress to date towards achieving BIM Level 2 as business as usual and what still remains to be achieved.

BIM 4 Clients – 2019 Q1 Meeting

The first BIM4Clients [BIM4C] of 2019 workshop was held on 16th January at the Institution of Engineering and Technology with a full house of client organisations. The workshop was a collaboration between the Centre for Digital Built Britain [CDBB] and the UK BIM Alliance [UKBIMA] to provide participants with an introduction to the CDBB programme, including some of its early outputs and an opportunity to hear from peer clients on their BIM Level 2 and wider digital journeys.
