Procurement Strategies for Incentivising Collaborative Delivery to Optimise Whole-life Outcomes
Research ambitions for CDBB
Many procurement models provide little time or opportunity for consultants, contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers and operators to develop integrated relationships or share knowledge and best practice in the ways that are required in order to improve project outcomes.
In contrast, collaborative procurement models can connect and integrate the work of different team members and translate their experience and aspirations into deliverable actions. Collaborative procurement models can also take full advantage of the new opportunities created by BIM and can respond efficiently to its challenges.
This research examines the ways in which procurement processes, digital technology and collaborative contracts can accommodate the differing aspirations and requirements of all team members and can improve the successful delivery of projects and programmes of work.
