The Centre for Digital Built Britain is interdisciplinary by nature and not just a technical programme. It is bringing together industry, academia, and policy makers in order to consider the wider effects of the digital agenda on society and the economy.
Its founding mission is ‘to develop and demonstrate policy and practical insights that will enable the exploitation of new and emerging technologies, data and analytics to enhance the natural and built environment, thereby driving up commercial competitiveness and productivity, as well as citizen quality of life and well-being.’
In order to fulfil that mission, CDBB convenes multiple programmes of work that are shared with our partners, most notably the Construction Innovation Hub and the National Digital Twin Programme. These programmes work together toward the development of digitally enabled infrastructure that serves as a platform for economic, social and environmental sustainability, as well as a resilient and world-leading UK construction sector. We do this through:
- Creating and signposting case studies, tools and guidance for industry
- Involvement with the Construction Innovation Hub
- Involvement with the National Digital Twin Programme
- Promoting digital construction internationally
- Developing and advising on digital training tools
- Funding, guiding and promoting the latest research and development
- Championing security-mindedness for digital construction
- Supporting BIM in the UK through:
- Standards development and the UK BIM Framework
- Creating and signposting relevant case studies and guidance
- Developing and advising on skills and training
- Creating resources for industry
CDBB is open to all. Please register for Centre news, funding calls and collaboration opportunities here.
